9/1/2023 0 Comments Mixcraft hijacks my audio![]() Seeing how the hardware is new, the cables work, the sound from the Audiobox itself is perfect and without popping, the sound and Audiobox drivers are all up to date, the laptop is less than a year old, and that this whole setup worked perfectly without the pops and breaks until about two weeks ago and that the pops and breaks only happen when I listen through MixCraft and seem to lessen or increase when I change settings under "Sound Device", it appears as if this is a software issue. I wish there was someway to reset MixCraft completely, as if installing it for the first time, but every time I uninstall, download, and reinstall it, it's as if my settings carry over. MixCraft worked perfectly fine with the Audiobox and mic setup until about a couple weeks ago and I have not change anything on my laptop my only conclusion is that this is a setting change within the software, like I have been saying. I have updated all my drivers, both sound and for the Audiobox. There was a known click/pop issue prior to v1.2.1, and some fixes for some USB 3.0 ports with v1.2.2 - although there are apparently still some problems with AudioBox and some USB 3.0 ports in some computers. ![]() To summarize, the problem is not with the hardware, the Audiobox, the mic, or with the USB connections it is strictly something within the software and I have no idea how to change it back.Īre you using the latest drivers for the AudioBox? When I alter the number of buffer and buffer size, the popping only increases or decreases but never goes away no matter what I do, MixCraft will not revert to the settings I had recorded with perfectly with prior before I (must have inadvertently) changed them. The intrusive popping/static sound comes only from MixCraft, I am positive it is a changed system setting within the program. I do not use a USB hub, and I have tried disconnecting all other USB connections the audio coming from the Audiobox (monitored with headphones plugged directly into the Audiobox itself) is fine and working with perfect clarity. The M7 is not a USB mic and connects to the Audiobox with a standard mic cable, the Audibox then connects to the computer via a USB cord. Also, ensure you are not going through a USB hub, and try disconnecting any other USB devices you have connected temporarily to see if that helps. Try another USB port and see what happens. Outteh wrote:If I read your post correctly, the issue is only happening with the mic and the mic connects via USB? Is there any way to connect a mic to your presonus box to test if that connection is ok? If you can try that and the recording is fine, then I would suspect the issue is with your USB setup. is there any way I can reset all settings back to the way they were when I first installed MixCraft? I have tried uninstalling, downloading and reinstalling the program several times, but the settings I have seem to carry over instead of resetting. I cannot use any vocal recordings or fix or remove the sound afterward however all instrument recordings sound fine (plugged in via USB, not recorded with the mic), please help. My only conclusion is that a software setting has been changed in between now and then that results in this situation. I cannot seem to make the static-sound go away now, but I have never had this problem before. The mystery to me is that I have used this same setup to record several songs before and the vocals were flawlessly recorded with no such interference. I have tried to adjust settings under "Sound Device", and the size and rate of buffering and sample rate seem to have something to do with it (either decreasing or increasing the breaking/popping, but never making it go to a level which is suitable for recording) and I am at my wit's end. The Audiobox has a jack to plug headphones into, and when listening to my vocals through the Audiobox itself, there is no such disturbances, only when I listen through MixCraft, leading me to believe that this is a software issue. ![]() However, this is not a hardware issue (all the cables are new and have worked perfectly before, no loose connections). When trying to record vocals (monitored of course, so I can hear what I'm recording in real time) I get a constant, noisy, static-like popping and hissing sound. I recently purchased a PreSonus Audiobox with an M7 mic that connects via USB to my laptop. Hello, I've been a long-time user of MixCraft and rely on your software for all of my recording needs. ![]()
